Over the years, we have had several “pool guys” maintain our pool, and we have had one problem after another. Just last summer, we replaced our filter pump twice ($500 each)! The first guy wired it incorrectly, and it burned out after only 3 months. He wouldn’t return any of our calls, and we couldn’t get a hold of him. Our pool was turning green since the pump wasn’t running so the chlorinator wasn’t producing chlorine. So desperately, we hired another guy, and he said the filter pump had to be replaced. We thought he knew what he was doing, but then that same filter pump went out just 13 months later. Of course, we were not able to get a hold of that second guy either. Needless to say, we were so upset.

Our neighbors recommended Justin at Petri Pools, and we are so grateful!
First of all, Justin put us as a “top priority” and came to look at it the next day. We had torrential rain and tornados that day, and the pool was already turning green from low salt due to all that rain and no filter running the chlorinator to produce chlorine.

We were astonished when we found out that Justin drove all over DFW to find a pool supply store that was open on a Saturday (they all close on Saturdays after Labor Day). We were shocked that he would do that for us. He could have just said he’d get to us on Monday.

Most impressive was that when he came to do the repair, he could have just told us that the filter pump went out again. We would have had him replaced it, and we would have never known. But he was so honest and told us that he tried checking the capacitor and that was the problem – not the pump. He had a capacitor on his truck, replaced it, and everything worked again. He saved us $500 – we were thrilled!

With all the contractors we’ve had for lawn maintenance, landscaping, and sprinkler system over the years, we have never come across anyone as honest as Justin at Petri Pools.

His professional and courteous attitude, expert knowledge, willingness to go the extra mile in handling my issue, and extraordinary honesty are very important to us.

After reading several wonderful reviews for Petri Pools, we decided to hire them for our complete pool remodel. I was not disappointed!
Justin came out the day after we contacted his company and gave us a quote for new plaster, tile and coping. His quote was very reasonable so we hired him to do the work.
We received a start date of the following week and I must say I was skeptical. I’ve worked with many contractors over the years only to be disappointed by their ambitious time lines of beginning and completing the work they quote. Again, I was not disappointed!
The crews that came to do the work – demo, tile work, coping, plaster, plumbing, electrical, etc. – were wonderful! They were nice, respectful, hard working and clean. Not once was there any evidence, other than the transformation of the pool, that anybody had been there working. They cleaned up all debris and left the area very clean at the end of each day.
The end result was a beautiful transformation of our pool and another VERY satisfied customer. I will not hesitate to refer Petri Pools to others and plan on using them again for upcoming deck projects.

Petri Pools provides our weekly maintenance service but most recently completed a big project in our backyard. We resurfaced and retiled the pool and it looks great! Justin helped us determine whether we could keep the existing flagstone (which we did). In addition, we wanted to extend and re-surface the decking, which he arranged and supervised.

There were weather delays (inevitable in Spring in Texas – it’s not a great idea to pour concrete in the rain or on top of mud), so Justin kept us up to date on the status of the project so we knew what to expect and came by when we had questions we couldn’t articulate over the phone. His crew worked with our pool fencing company so they were able to re-set the holes for the fencing before the resurfacing was complete.

He was also very patient with us as we are still learning about our pool and its inner workings.

One of the things I really appreciate about Petri Pools is that they respond promptly and arrive when they say they will. I never get a “I’ll be there sometime tomorrow” from Justin – I always know when to expect him and he’s never a “no-show”. That type of reliability and responsiveness is difficult to find.

We are very happy with the results and would hire him again. Since he did such a great job, we won’t have to for a while!

Our family mad a pool installed several years ago against my better wishes mainly for our kids. Working full time and with all my voluntary
community service, I made it clear I have little time left to maintain a pool. When the pool was new, all was good but as the equipment got older, the problems started and here we go.

Petri pools has been servicing my pool since we moved here in June of 2014 and I have always been satisfied. Back in July of this year we had a bad storm and our gas grill fell into the pool along with all the grease and soot that had accumulated over the years. I emailed Petri Pools and they were out the next day to clean up the mess. However, despite many attempts made by the Petri pool guys, the water color never came back to the blue color it once was. My pool is gunite and the plaster had started to chip away in places so with that added to the weird greenish blue water color, I decided it was time for a pool renovation. Justin, the owner, came out to my home, measured and gave many options to consider. That afternoon he had an estimate emailed and included links where I could start looking at pool tiles and coping. I told him I needed to see tiles in person so we met at the Petri Pool office and looked at samples together and he even showed me some finished project examples on his computer. He also let me take some pool tile samples home to better visualize how it would look. After a few days I made my selections and emailed him by top three. He gave me quotes on all three and from there I finalized my choices and the job started the next week. Justin emailed me every morning to let me know who would be there and what they were going to do. Justin also came on site a couple of times to check on progress. Overall I am very pleased not only with the pool service, but with the pool renovation process from beginning to end! I would definitely recommend Petri Pools for weekly pool service and most definitely for pool renovation.

After doing my fair share of research on pool remodel companies, I decided on Petri Pools as a result of great reviews and meeting with Justin on the scope of what my project would take. We are first time homeowners with a 30 year old pool that had given us multiple leak troubles over the first 4-5 months in the house, so while I knew pool work would come in the future, this soon was definitely unexpected.
